The Big Reveal!!!

An Exquisite Moment &
 Sacred Threads Acceptances!
 Happy Dancing!

I am thrilled to have my quilt juried into the special exhibit
 "An Exquisite Moment"
that will make it's debut at Long Beach International Quilt Festival 2013

The exhibit is curated by the dynamic team of Jamie Fingal & Leslie Tucker Jenison

AKA the Dinner @ Eight artists

My quilt is entitled

"Lift"

My artist statement:
That exquisite moment when that which was bound to the earth, becomes borne to the air.

"Lift"
24" W x 60" L

(detail)
The piece is  hand panted except for the birds which were printed on paper and then mod podged front & back to make them pliable.  Then they were mod podged to the top of the quilt and machine quilted down.

Debuting:

Gates of Heaven & Hell

note: the entrance to hell is a^^ bit more open that the heaven side :P

The binding on the heaven side is all black.  The binding on the hell side is all white, around the bottom area it didn't look good; too boxed in so I took my fancy fabric marker and just drew out or carried the design fully to the edges. I was so impressed with myself for thirty seconds, then I only wished I could have done the white on the heaven side... note to self; much easier to get black onto a white surface that true white onto a black surface...thirty seconds of pride over.   LOL

yup; those are fishnet stockings, I covered them in smokey tulle so they are flush.
The Raven is made of PVC.  I had to cover it in Solvy's water soluble stuff in order to quilt the feathers.
