I've got my eye on you!
I am excited to be part of this, and support my friend, Jamie Fingal! Her newest fabric line with Hoffman Fabrics "Autumn is for Birds" will be in stores in April.
Here's the new line!
I scarcely knew where to begin with such rich colors and fabulous textures!
I was really working outside my comfort zone on this project and had a blast being silly, whimsical and carefree! What better combination than birds and kittens and prairie points!
I love birding and always enjoy creating places for them in my backyard. My cats love watching 'bird tv' especially on the days the bird feeders are all replenished and bird baths are refilled. I had fun creating one of my own cats, Ms Stella O'Houligan (who is nearly 20 and well past bird catching days) when she sleeps under the honeysuckle tree enjoying the sun on her furs in the breezy days of fall.

Size is 21" W x 30" L
I'm totally in love with those darling orange polka dots! I cut out the bird shapes from a prefused piece of fabric. I used Mistyfuse for this project.
she's always got one eye open for birds. That is a cabochon glass bead with digital eye attached. I get my eyes on Etsy.
Adding hand embroidery is always fun and addictive!
All the outline quilting was done with Aurifil's Linen thread. This bright orange gave just the right amount of visual weight and wasn't too difficult as long as it was in the bobbin.
I used Aurifil's lime green Linen for the ghost branches.

First to comment again! Guess I just can't wait to see what each hopper has created with this wonderful batch of fabrics. They are so bright and cheerful, especially with this resurgence of winter's cold and dreary weather we are facing.
